Welcome to Designed 2 Play!
Hi! I’m Lauren, and I love to help fellow crafters create fun and engaging projects that are not only a joy to make, but also help you to connect with the children in your life through games, crafts and play.
Do you get frustrated trying to figure out ways that you can help your child work on the skills they need to master as they move through school, but have no idea of where to look or what to do? Would you love to provide your child with learning resources that are colourful, fun and tailored to their specific interests? Do you want to create storage solutions for your kids that are both cute and functional? Would you love simple, easy to set up craft projects that help you spend quality bonding time with the children in your life? Are you looking for craft projects that are not only beautiful and fun to create, but also practical and useful? Then you’ve come to the right place!
Over the past 6 years I have immersed myself in the ins and outs of early years literacy and numeracy, hosted elaborate children’s parties for all occasions, and dreamed up countless craft activities for the art club that I run as a volunteer at my local library.
My hope is that you will get to indulge your love of crafting beautiful things whilst helping the children in your life to grow their literacy and numeracy skills, learn all about the world, organise your learning resources better, plan amazing parties and gather a whole heap of tips and tricks to help make the most of your crafting tools. What could be better?
I’m always looking for ways to give you more of what you need, so please feel free to send any suggestions or requests you may have, from specific skills you want to practice more with your little ones, party themes you’d like to see games and designs for, and any themes or topics you’d like to see come to life. Send me an email to [email protected] and I’ll see what I can do!
I have also spent all kinds of time searching for fun and playful activities that would keep my kids engaged and entertained whilst helping them to learn, but I often struggled to find what I was looking for. I began creating my own designs, and stumbled across the wonder that is the Cricut machine! Before long it became apparent how much quicker and easier it was to design and cut projects on the Cricut, particularly those projects involving intricate, detailed designs or lots of small pieces. Not only that, but I was able to produce games and resources that were far more visually pleasing and robust that I could ever manage by hand.
Designed 2 Play contains lots of free, simple, easy to use projects for you to pick and choose from as your needs require. Each project comes with digital files and full instructions on how to make and use each project, and the tutorials are sprinkled with tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your Cricut machine.
