Colour Match Monsters

Colourful Preschool Craft – Halloween Colour Match Monsters

Halloween is the perfect time for some creative monster crafts and these Colour Match Monsters are a great way for preschoolers to practice the skill of colour matching.

They’ll have a blast combining a selection of similarly coloured craft materials in order to create some super imaginative monster combinations, with no limit to the number of eyes, arms, horns, teeth, tails and hair they include!

Once assembled, use a hole punch to make a hole in the top of each monster and string them together in a garland, to make some colourful DIY Halloween decor to brighten up a classroom or table setting!

How To Cut Your Colour Match Monsters With The Cricut

Download the Design from the freebies page and upload in Cricut Design Space.

Ungroup the image and select the group of monster eyes. Select ‘Flatten’ in the Layers panel to prepare for ‘Print then Cut’.

Select ‘Make’ and ‘On Mat’. Change the material sizes on the ‘Prepare’ page if necessary then ‘Continue’.

Send your ‘Print then Cut’ page to the printer. Once printed, load this page onto your mat and cut. I used the ‘Cardstock For Intricate Cuts’ setting.

I cut the remainder of my mats with ‘Medium’ cardstock and ‘More’ pressure.

How to Use Your Colour Match Monsters

Lay out the monster pieces you have just cut, along with an assortment of pom poms, washi tape, buttons, wool, feathers and any other crafty bits and bobs you have to hand.

Ask your child to select a coloured monster base and create a monster using materials within that colour group.

Assembling a Colour Match Monster

Repeat for all of the other colours!
